Dog-friendly Elopement | Telluride, Colorado

Few things are as romantic as an elopement in the great outdoors. Jordan and Marty cross-country skied to a beautiful location near Telluride, Colorado, for their wedding ceremony. Their pups, Maggie and Hazel, joined them on their snowy adventure. Vanessa and Chad from The Outlovers photographed this joyful event.

From Vanessa: “This was a super-fun, cross-country skiing elopement near Telluride, Colorado. Jordan and Marty brought their dogs. Maggie is Walker Coonhound, five years old, and Hazel, a rescue mix of Boxer/ Rhodesian Ridgeback, is seven years old. Hazel is from Foothills Animal Shelter. We love dogs and rejoice when couples include them in their elopement.

From Jordan: “Before we met, our dogs were our best companions through some of the tougher growth phases of life. Once we met, Maggie and Hazel became inseparable. They are still a big part of our lives, and I don’t think we will ever have such wonderful dogs again. We wanted them to be a part of our day because of how special they are to us. It was impossible to think of it without them!”

From Kris: “Best friends Kali and Dan got married with the help of their puppy, Colt, and their dog, Riesling. Both are English Cream Golden Retrievers. Their county-style wedding took place at the lovely Barn at Rayne Run in Indiana County, Pennsylvania.”

From Kali: “Our wedding was rustic/country-themed at Rayne Run barn. We are country people, so I went down the aisle in a tractor bucket with my puppy colt. We had sunflowers everywhere, which looked amazing, with the girls in cowboy boots and coral dresses.”

Almost everyone who has a dog can relate to that quote by Roger Cara I love it when dogs are included in big events like weddings. Natalie and Brandyn included their pup, Nala, in their wedding photos with Courtney McManaway Photography in Lake Elsinore, California.

From Natalie: “Nala is a Belgian Malinois/Pitbull mix. She loves to play tug of war and go on walks/runs. She’s definitely a people person, and she’s super energetic. The one thing that Nala hates though is baths!”
