From Samantha:  “Mariana and Cory recently adopted a new puppy, and of course, they needed some family photos to show off their new addition!“

From Mariana:  “Cory (my husband) and I grew up with dogs and always wanted to adopt one, but never felt like it was the ‘right’ time. We would look at PetFinder here and there but never really pulled the trigger until we saw Rio (originally Frankie). I know this will sound cheesy, but it was love at first sight, and I just knew he was meant to be a part of our family. We applied for him, and two days later, we were picking him up after our meet and greet (thank God for Amazon Prime!).

We’ve only had him for a short time, but it has been the best time of our lives. We love him so much, and I’m so glad we found each other. He’s so smart and has the best personality. Rio is four months old and a Border Collie mix (based on the info we got from his rescue). We adopted him from Far Fetched Dog Rescue. He didn’t have the best life before being rescued as he was found as a stray, beyond dehydrated and sick when he was only a few weeks old. He had to be in the hospital for a couple of weeks before going to his foster family, but now he is the happiest boy ever. “If you are looking to add a dog to your family, please consider adopting one. Contrary to popular opinion, puppies and purebreds are available for adoption, but they may be harder to find.

He is a Vizsla and was nine weeks when we photographed him.
We had the best time playing and photographing Charlie Copper in the studio. I have to say that I don’t get to photograph pets often, but when I do, I get lucky with cute little furry clients.”

From Morgan:  “Diana adopted Rowan in May after feeling the need for a pup. She had been eyeing a dog for a while but thought it maybe wasn’t the right time. On a drive back from Knoxville, Tennessee, Diana stopped into a pet store because they were having an adoption event. She intended on just looking. Well, she ended up taking Rowan home for a sleepover program (which was supposed to be seven days long), but after the first night, she knew she was going to keep him.”

From Diana:  “I adopted Rowan after losing my grandmother and my dad earlier this year. Rowan has been the best thing to happen to me. He brings me so much joy, and he saved me, I was in a time where I was feeling lonely and really missing my loved ones who passed, and Rowan just makes everything better. When I am having a bad day or missing my dad, it is like Rowan knows, and he will come over and sit next to me and make sure I am okay.”

offers a puppy package that includes three separate photoshoots during the pup’s first year.   These photos are from Arrow’s second session, and he is absolutely adorable!  

Arrow is a six-month-old Border Collie/Heeler mix puppy! We took images at his favorite park, Cathedral Park in Portland, Oregon, when the flowers were in full bloom.

This was one of the first weeks in Portland when it was warm, and Spring had officially arrived. I photographed Arrow at three months as well, and meeting him again was such a joy. He used to be a shy and scared pup, but now as a teenager, he has really grown into his confidence and loves to meet new people and dogs. He has one of the best smiles ever, and I can’t get over his sweet floppy ears!

His dad, Travis got Arrow early on during the pandemic, so he is excited to finally take Arrow out to meet new dogs, make new friends, and capture his final stage of growth in our third pet photoshoot… coming soon!”

From Travis: “Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, I have always had dogs, and generally, they would wander onto our property and become ours. They were never trained but still loving and loyal nonetheless. Since moving to Oregon in 2020 and finding the region of the country that I can truly call my home, I have had that urge to start adding to my family. After months of research and searching for that perfect pup, I went out to Pacific City, OR on a chilly, foggy November morning and met Arrow.

When I arrived, the litter poured out of their front yard playpen and onto the dew-soaked grass to greet me with wagging tails and endless licks. As to be expected with young herding breed puppies, they were quite rambunctious. There was one pup, though, that stood out from the rest. He was sitting on his rump with his back upright, just watching his brothers and sisters enjoying their morning romp. He gave out some sleepy yawns and seemed relatively uninterested until I sat down across the fray; then, he slowly sat up and wobbled his way over to me. Dodging body slams and charges from his siblings, he made his way over, climbed up into my lap, briefly looked up at me with soft sleepy eyes, and tumbled down into a pocket of warmth between my legs… Our heartstrings tangled, and the rest is history.

Ever since then, Arrow and I have been partners in crime, traveling all over Oregon to explore all that it has to offer. I quickly learned that Arrow is an all-seasons pup. We’ve hiked to a snow-covered Trillium Lake on Mount Hood, wandered the ancient forests from Hood to Sisters, and visited just about every beach and coastal town from Astoria to Bandon. As we have been exploring together, I’ve found quirky little things that he enjoys, such as: catching snowballs with his mouth, jumping as high as his legs will allow him in any puddle we come across, biting at the specks of grain that float through the air on the great Eastern plains and jumping headlong into any body of water on command after a toy. He is just as wild and free as me, and we have a long road ahead of us with many adventures to come.”

When you have a puppy named Simba, you have to get this photo!

From Sheena:  “Candace and Roshan first met while going to school at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. She was studying architecture. He, aerospace engineering. The bond they formed during their freshman year grew stronger and stronger, and their relationship continued throughout their entire undergraduate experience. They both decided to attend graduate school at Georgia Tech as well, and it was during this time that Roshan reached out to me to talk about proposing to Candace.

I’ve actually known these two for years and had the honor of watching them as their relationship bloomed over the years. So, naturally, when Roshan told me he wanted to propose to Candace, I couldn’t have been more excited.

The two of us met up and schemed fun ideas and ways he could pop the question. We planned to make Candace think that Roshan had just scheduled a couples session with me to get some photos of the two of them on campus. Little did she know, a rooftop proposal was on the way. And even better, their Golden Retriever puppy, Simba, that they had just adopted a few days ago, would be the one carrying the ring around his collar. To say that Simba was a total star would be an absolute understatement. He truly showed up for his new mom and dad and ultimately helped seal the deal for Roshan to get his girl.”
