Dogs rescue us in so many ways. Sometimes though, I come across a love story of gigantic proportions. Floki is such a cute pup, and without even trying, he helped his humans get back their lives. Their story also shows how compassion can lead to tremendous courage. Lauren from Playful Soul Photography captured their love beautifully.
From Lauren: “First time meeting Soleil and Robert I knew they had a special relationship and they just couldn’t get enough of their fur baby, Floki. The amount of love they have for Floki made me feel like he was more than just their pup but their baby. Soleil is the more vibrant and talkative out of the two, while Robert is reserved and caring. Their opposite personalities truly complemented each other, and I can see how excited they both were to be engaged.
I didn’t learn until after their session that despite Soleil’s energetic personality, she had gone through several hardships within the last few years. Through it all, Robert was there by her side every step of the way. He helped pick her up when she was down and made her smile when she didn’t think she could. Later they adopted Floki, and with his help and Robert’s, she got back on her feet.
In 2018, for Soleil’s birthday, Robert took her camping, made her favorite meal, and proposed to her underneath the stars. Events that generally would have left people broken made them both stronger as a couple, and with that, he knew he wanted to spend forever with her.”
And as annoyed as Robert was about being blindsided by a new dog, now we both can’t imagine life without this little pup.”

It’s amazing how much healing you can get from a dog. I am glad Floki was there to help though a difficult time. It sure seems like they are one little happy family!

This is an amazing story for the couple to look back on and remember how far they have come. Having health issues, I know first hand how it can destroy a relationship. It stinks but one thing that keeps me going is my kids and furbaby.
Their dog is beautiful. A dog can be a great emotional support when going through tough times.

Incredible story about love and how much it can change a person’s life. I think pets are amazing and they do so much especially when you’re going through a tough time. I enjoyed reading about their story and looking at their pictures as well.
