Franny, the Lab/Chow mix, and Ruby, the Lab/Boxer mix, celebrated their humans’ wedding last June in Ava, Missouri. Franny was the flower girl/ring bearer, while Ruby wasn’t quite ready for that responsibility. Thanks to Shelby Chante’ Photography for these photos of a very happy occasion.
From Shelby: “Rachel and Connor had two requests on their wedding day. They wanted beautiful couples photos as well as photos with their babies. They were so young when I met them that I thought ‘wow! ok!’ It turns out that their babies are their dogs. Some couples are unsure about bringing their pets to the wedding because they don’t want to get dirty. Rachel and Connor just wanted to love on their pups.”
From Rachel: “Franny is a 3-year-old black lab and chow mix, and Ruby is a 7-month-old boxer and lab mix.
In 2017, my best friend adopted Franny from someone giving puppies away in a parking lot because they couldn’t take care of them. However, when my friend could no longer care for her, Connor and I adopted her, and she quickly became our whole world.
We adopted Ruby in March from HFLCS (Home for Life Cat Sanctuary – they rescue both dogs and cats). She and her siblings were abandoned by their owners, rescued by this organization, and adopted at Petsmart’s adoption event.
Franny is our oldest baby. We love and adore her, so much so that she was in our engagement pictures! She used to go to work with Connor every day, but when we moved, and he got a new job, she had to stay home all day, so we thought she needed a sibling. We stopped at an adoption event at Petsmart on a whim, where we met Ruby. It was love at first sight! Now we couldn’t imagine our lives without her!
Our wedding day was so special because not only did we get to say our I do’s, but we got to have our babies right by our side! Franny was our flower girl/ ring bearer, and she was the star of the show!
Ruby could not have a role in the wedding because she was, and still is, a young, crazy puppy!
We take our girls everywhere – on rides around town, quick trips to Andy’s and PetCo, to Kansas City to see their canine cousins and even our honeymoon! We purposely chose a destination closer to home so we could take Franny and Ruby with us. They had so much fun exploring Hot Springs, AR with us, and enjoying ‘pup-cakes’ from a local dog bakery there!
Franny and Ruby are the best of friends and are the center of our world!”
Since dog lovers tend to attract each other, it is fitting that Rachel and Connor offered dog treat wedding favors for their guests.
