Duke the mantle merle Great Dane has an important reminder for his friends and family. November 10th is his big day to shine. And also, his humans are getting married. He made his modeling debut during this engagement shoot with Irish Eyes Photography. This weekend, he’ll be in the wedding party.
From Maureen: “We are mindful of everyone’s story because ultimately each is unique, distinct, and beautiful. As their photographers, we have the rare privilege of observing and relaying their stories through photography.”
From the Couple: “In our pictures is Duke, our baby! He just turned four years old on July 10th. My fiancé Kevin and I have had him since he was a little pup. He is a Great Dane (mantle Merle is the color they call his light grey with the darker grey spotted coat). Kevin and I always wanted a Great Dane, so when we got our own place, we started looking for a good breeder. We found a couple who was very knowledgeable and nice.
When we went to pick a puppy, we held all ten, and Duke was the most cuddly, so of course, I chose him. Duke has always been such a docile, loving, gentle giant! He has NO idea how big he his. Duke tends to think he is a lap dog the size of a chihuahua and sits on his mom and dad’s lap constantly.
He loves going to the dog park and meeting new friends. Duke is also very good at snuggling up on the couch (taking up all the room and all the blankets that he insists he must be under) for a movie day/night in. Everyone thinks it’s crazy that Kevin and I let him sleep in our bed. (We had to upgrade to a king as he got older because we all did not fit well). He just has the best personality, and we love having him right by us under the covers because we know he loves it too! He has made our life so much brighter, and we are grateful for his unconditional love!
By the way, he will be the ring bearer at our wedding on November 10th! We can’t wait for his big debut!”
