There’s no place like home for the holidays, and it would be fantastic for this guy to experience that firsthand. Kathryn Schauer photographed Freedom the handsome terrier mix. He is up for adoption at Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter in Branford, Connecticut.
Freedom is a young dog and is house trained, neutered and up to date on all of his shots.
From the shelter: “Freedom is an amazing dog that has suffered a horrible beginning. He came to us on July 5 found as a possible bait dog. Sadly, Freedom had wounds all over his body. Additionally, his teeth were either filed or worn down. He needed surgery to save his ears. Yet he remains a sweet dog. Freedom is still waiting for his forever home, not one application, not one interested party. No one has even asked to meet him.
We are so so sad for him because he is such a beautiful dog with a wonderful personality. Freedom likes other animals and children, but we think he should go into a home where he would get all the love and attention so he can decompress. Can all of our followers please SHARE his story so we can get him a home for Christmas. We just know there has to be someone out there for this sweet guy!”

OMG what an angel. I am so sad for these babies that are born into these lives of hell, but I hope soon Freedom will find his happy furever he so deserves. These images are stunning!
It breaks my heart whenever I learn about such a rough past, but it also makes me feel so lucky to live in a world filled with kind people, like the ones who have helped Freedom.

What a handsome fellow! Her certainly deserves a loving family and home. I know that despite his background – or perhaps because of it – he will cherish a furever home even more! Sending hugs and wishes that his dream of a family will come true soon!
Go Freedom, go! Dogs are such amazing, resilient creatures – retaining their joyful and loving spirit. I know Freedom is in good hands now and will be ‘home’ for the holidays very soon! What a handsome boy!

How could I not comment on a post for a dog looking for a home. Freedom is exactly who I would want for my next dog. I do hope he finds a loving home soon…every animal deserves one. I will be sharing in hopes!
