You might think that terrier mix, Tracy Rene, is a pampered pooch. But, this adorable little pup probably has more than a few hair-raising stories she could tell about her past life. These days, the favorite muse of Memphis photographer Teresa Daniel has an impressive wardrobe, toys, and most importantly, people who love her. While we may never know her exact past, Tracy Rene is one lucky dog!
From Teresa: Tracy Rene, who is named after her rescuer, is the kind of personable pup who should have her own Instagram, except I’d miss posting her on my own!
So she settles for a hashtag (#TracyRene). But we don’t feel we’ve settled by picking her as our doggie – quite the contrary. As if her cuteness weren’t enough, her past as a rescue dog makes me want to love on her even more for every lost second that she wasn’t yet mine.
When she was rescued by Real Good Dog Rescue Tracy was living near the woods behind a community center, getting food from the neighbors in the area and having just had puppies on her own. She growled at me out of fear the first time I met her and didn’t like meeting people. But I knew she was my puppy from the minute I saw her and quickly won her over with lots of love.
Tracy Rene now greets most new people with happy barks and curious sniffs instead of defensive growls. She proudly wears many a bandana, coat or even a flower crown depending on the season.
Every chance I get to donate back to Real Good Dog or other rescue organizations, I take it. And I can’t encourage people enough to adopt dogs in need. I’m certainly glad that I did! My husband and I can’t imagine our family without our little Tracy Rene.
Thanks for sharing! We love Tracy Rene & the Daily Dog Tag!

Poor Tracy, what a sad start in life she had, but thank goodness for the kindness of strangers who at least kept her fed. She’s such a beautiful dog I know my husband and I would have scooped her up in a second. I’m thrilled she got lucky and found her forever home.
