Melissa Avey Photography sent in this bittersweet family dog photography session. Although Gizzy is no longer alive, I know his family has a lot of fond memories of this sweet little dog.
From Melissa: “This was a very special portrait session that took place recently here in Cambridge, Ontario. I received a very heartfelt call from a lady who was about to lose the family dog. They had given him 2 weeks to live. Many years ago when the youngest boys (twins) were born, a family member had given this little pup as a gift to the big brother.
So all of the children were raised with this little guy and they asked Mom if they could get together and have a portrait session done. Mom agreed.
The session was both fun and emotional.
There were times that I felt my heart breaking as I watched the way they looked and talked about the dog. It was nice to see them playing and having fun as well and I encouraged happy moments the whole time.
I am so happy that I was able to give them these images.”
I’m sending my condolences to Gizzy’s family and a badge of honor to his mom (can you imagine a toddler, twin babies and a puppy all at once!) What a wonderfully fun, adorable and sleep deprived year that must have been!
