Laura & Rachel Photography captured this beautiful anniversary session, which included the couple’s white fluffy bundle of joy, Buster, the Golden Retriever puppy.
From Laura and Rachel: “This was the most adorable idea ever! Exactly one year before the day we captured these portraits, RJ and Ally exchanged I Do’s for their beautiful Santa Lucia Preserve wedding. Just a few weeks from our cross country move to Charleston, Rachel two-weeks postpartum, their wedding was one of the last we would capture while still living in California.
Fast forward one whole year, celebrating their first anniversary, RJ and Ally visited Carmel for the weekend from their home in San Francisco, but this trip they didn’t come alone. They were no longer a family of two, but their new little one didn’t require a car seat. Meet Buster Posey (a true San Francisco Giants fan family for sure)! The most adorable white fluffy furball we had have ever laid our eyes on!
What an absolutely perfect way to celebrate with an anniversary session! We think everyone with a fur baby should include them and have at least one pet family portrait. Don’t you agree?”
From Ally: “RJ and I both grew up with dogs and always knew we wanted one of our own. I wanted a golden retriever, and he wanted a white lab, so we compromised on an English Cream golden retriever. RJ wanted to wait until we had a yard to get a dog. However, I was too impatient, so I let RJ have naming rights if we got a dog while still living in our San Francisco apartment. RJ chose Buster after his favorite San Francisco Giants player, Buster Posey.
We went for a puppy visit at our breeder, and Buster crawled right up into RJ’s lap, and from that moment, we knew he was the one. He has been the best thing we have done as a couple, but also the most challenging! His favorite place in the world is the beach at Crissy Field in San Francisco – with a backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge. Buster loves chasing sticks and playing around with other dogs.
His favorite time is definitely mealtime, and when he’s not cuddling up with us, Buster enjoys stealing socks, slippers, and jumping onto furniture he knows he’s not supposed to be on.
Buster is strong and stubborn, and there are moments when his only redeeming quality is how cute he is (which is VERY redeeming), but we love him to death and can’t imagine life without him!”
