Today is yet another great day for kids and dogs: lots and lots of snow! One of the things I love most about winter is Kathryn Schauer’s photos of snow loving dogs. Her favorite model is her handsome and goofy Black Labrador Retriever, Tucker. I’m so happy to share these stunning and fun images today!
From Kathryn: “Tucker is a southern transplant like myself, he came from down south via Labs4Rescue, and for a southern dog he does not like the heat! He does however LOVE to play in the snow!
It took us about a year after the passing of our previous dog to adopt another dog. But we are so happy with him, we could not have asked for a better dog! He is my sidekick, my number one model, my light-tester, my hiking partner, and foot warmer.
The first full day he was here, we had to go out and leave him crated. He broke the crate busting free, ate a stick of butter and hid a loaf of bread in the couch! We all thought, oh no what in the world have we done! We upgraded his crate, and called our friend Polite Paws training immediately. A couple of sessions on impulse control, and it has never happened again! He has free reign of the house, and can be trusted not to counter surf for bread and butter!
We have always considered changing his name to Flopsy! Whenever you go to pet him, he will immediately go limp, flop down on the floor, and ask for a belly rub!
He almost always sleeps with all four legs up in the air, and when he has been at a friend’s overnight, he has taught her dogs to do the same!”
This last photo is so cute to me, Kathryn has titled it “Waiting For Friends” and I hope his bff Guilly showed up that day!

These images are so joyful and beautiful! I feel happier just seeing them. We haven’t had any snow this winter where I live, so I have to live vicariously through photos of other people and dogs romping in the snow. These images did the trick!
