Although I love photos of dogs enjoying the snow, sometimes it is just too cold to be outside. Studio photography is a great option when the weather isn’t cooperative. Puppies grow up so fast, so I love it when people decide to have a professional dog photographer document puppyhood. Luciana Calvin sent in these photos of Hazel, the adorable Cavalier-Poodle puppy. Since puppies are so energetic, studio photography is often the best way to get adorable photos. If you’ve ever tried to photograph a puppy, then you know how big of a challenge it can be.
From Luciana: “I almost forgot how crazy life can become with a brand new puppy. My friends Ana and Dina recently found that out probably five minutes after their new puppy arrived.
Hazel, the puppy ‘nut’ as I call her, is a pile of energy as any new healthy puppy can be. She runs around nonstop, looking for new things to play or chew on. Remember that commercial with the Duracell bunny? Yeah, that pretty much describes Hazel-nut!
Adjusting to a new pet can be challenging, it requires a lot of discipline and consistent training to make sure the puppy grows up to become a well behaved and adjusted dog. They can be like toddlers requiring a lot of attention, but they will reward you with the most beautiful feelings you can experience unconditional love. That is priceless, and I wish everyone have the opportunity at some point in their lives to experience that.”
From Dina: “The minute I laid eyes on Hazel, she brought an instant calm to my life. She is the true definition of unconditional love.“
From Ana: “Our little Hazel changed everything for us. The routine is now around her, and we love that she is part of our lives. It is amazing how an animal can teach us so much in so little time. She gives us unconditional love regardless. Coming home to that little wagging tail and butt is the most precious thing. I am very happy we got her, she loves everyone and loves playing with her toys. Hazelnut is the best!“

These are so stinkin’ cute! I love the fluffiness . . . and the cute headpieces! I’m so glad the owners love her. 🙂

This is soooo adorable! What a perfect model! I could never get my cats to do that 😉
I have a cavashon, a cavalier/bichon mix. Cavaliers make a gorgeous dog!
I can’t even deal with how cute this whole photoshoot is. Our new puppy is too big to do these kinds of pictures with. Boo!
What a precious puppy. She literally looks like she could be in a stuffed animal display at a store instead of a real live cavalier poodle. What a cutie.
This little pup is so adorable! I’d never heard of this specific breed of poodle. Just a cutie!
