Benny and Lilah, the adorable mixed breeds, joined their humans for a dog-friendly family session with Dennis from Charleston Photo Art. Dennis is a master at finding amazing locations within Charleston, South Carolina. While some photographers have a favorite place to shoot, it seems like Dennis is always photographing somewhere new.
From Claire: “Benny is the name the shelter picked, and we liked it because it reminded us of ‘Benny the Beaver,’ the mascot for Oregon State University, where we met and went to undergrad. We picked Lilah because it just fit her. Benny has long legs and often ‘prances,’ so we call him the ‘Mayor of Prancetown.’ I often call Lilah “Bean, ” shortened from ‘Lilah Bean’- a play on Lima Bean and Jumping Bean (because she jumps high).
We think they are around 8 years old. They are probably brother and sister as they were found as strays together in California and seem to be the same age. Benny and Lilah are likely a Maltese/terrier blend.
We adopted them through a rescue agency when we were living in Portland, Oregon. They were brought up from the Lancaster County Shelter in Los Angeles.
Benny likes to romp around the yard. Lilah likes to play when you blow on her face, and she races around the bed.
Our family likes to go on walks together or hang out on the couch! They are pretty chill dogs. Our favorite place to go together is Folly Beach or Hampton Park!
They are the sweetest, kindest dogs. No one is a stranger; everyone is a friend.
My favorite memory of the dogs is watching them adapt to all the places we have moved to. As long as they have some human company and a couch to snuggle on, they are happy!
The best thing about having dogs is knowing they are always excited to see you and always love you, no matter how good or bad your day went!
